We love our pets. We don’t love the hair and odors they leave behind.  Having a pet friendly home brings the challenge of keeping your home smelling fresh and clean.  Regardless of whether they have accidents in the house or have a stinky coat, there are many ways of how to reduce stains and odors in pet-friendly homes.

Reduce Stains and Odors in Pet-Friendly Homes

Pet Odors on Furniture

Wash pets bedding or areas where they lay most.  If your furry friend likes to lounge in specific areas in your home, make sure to wash the bedding or furniture on a regular basis. Doing so will help to remove pet odor.

Have your upholstery professionally cleaned.  Our pets love to snuggle and unless you have a no pets on the furniture rule. their scents can settle into the fabric.  When cleaning upholstery in your home, it is best to leave it to the professionals.   Our cleaning methods help to maintain the appearance all while removing dirt, dander and allergens that reside on your furniture.

Pet Stains on Carpet

Clean the spot and avoid the stain.  When you find a pet accident on carpet, it is important that you attack the spot right then.  Using a clean cloth, dab the carpet to remove the urine from the surface. Make sure not to scrub the spot as you can cause further damage to the carpet fibers and force the spill to the base of the fiber.  With a clean damp rag, begin dabbing again until the area comes clean.  Use a dry cloth to dab the spot dry.  Using this method will help to stop the mess at a spot and avoid the pain of a carpet stain.

Change the furnace and A/C filters frequently.  Airborne pet odors can get trapped in air filters and cause the smells to circulate throughout the home.  Changing the air filter in your home on a monthly basis, will improve the efficiency of your system and help to remove offending odors.
