Working for a cleaning and restoration company means your house is clean all the time right? Wrong! Even with professional cleaning services readily available, the floors in our homes aren’t always the cleanest.  That’s why we turn to these quick and effective tips when doing routine cleaning.

First, let’s start off by saying that the type of flooring determines the cleaning method used for that flooring type.  If you ever have concerns about using a specific product on your flooring, don’t hesitate to give us a call- we’re here for you!

Ceramic-Tile Floors

  • Begin by vacuuming the floors to remove any dirt, pet hair, or grit
  • Using  warm water , mild detergent and a clean rag, begin washing the floors in a circular motion.
  • For the grout– try using a brush to remove dirt that can build up on the grout of your floors.

Leave it to the pros: For an annual deep clean, trust the pros at AmeriClean to clean your tile and grout using our powerful hot water cleaning process and special tools to remove the dirt and grime from the tile and grout.  As an additional service, your technician can also seal and protect your grout after the cleaning. This can help extend the life of the grout and helps maintain the “floors sparkle” and appearance for longer than a normal cleaning.

Hardwood Floors

  • Vacuum or sweep your floors to remove any dirt, pet hair, or grit
  • Using 1/2 cup of vinegar in a gallon of warm water- you can wash your hardwood floors using a rag and the good-ole hands-and-knees method… both are sure to make your floors sparkle!
  • Ring out the rag (it only needs to be damp) and wash in a box pattern until you have cleaned the entire area.  Ringing out the rag enables the floors to dry quickly and limits the amount of water on your floors
Vinyl Floors

  • Vacuum or sweep your floors to remove any dirt, pet hair, or grit
  • Mix borax in a bucket of warm water and wash the floors with either a rag or the hands-and-knees method

Using any of these methods are sure to leave your floors sparkling!  These are best used on a cleaning schedule and combined with a professional cleaning from AmeriClean.
