AmeriClean provided emergency water extraction of carpeted and hard surface floors on all three levels. Once the water was removed from the floors our team got to work preparing the building for the drying processes. Thousands of feet of rubber cove based were removed to allow airflow to reach the building materials being dried. In the hallways granite was used as the baseboard which was at risk of being damaged during the removal process so it was determined small holes would be made above the baseboard to allow airflow into the wall cavities. Throughout this phase an emphasis was placed on continually cleaning the work areas to maintain indoor air quality within the building to protect occupants in the unaffected areas.

The drying process was complicated by the buildings electrical system being affected during the flood leaving it unusable. Multiple 100KW generators were setup to provide power for the air movers, dehumidifiers and air scrubbers for the duration of the restoration process. As the drying progressed electricians were able to restore the power in sections of the building and our team was able to turn the dried space over to the construction team for repairs.

From start to finish the water damage restoration phase of the project took just over 7 days to complete. Through constant communication with university education, maintenance and environmental health and safety staff along with the contractor, our group effort was able to minimize damage to the facility and quickly return it to a pre-loss condition.
