To quote the Lorax, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”  Earth day, celebrate April 22nd this year, reminds each of us of the important role we hold in making the earth a more greener, cleaner and more wonderful place to live.  Change one habit and you can make all the difference.

1.  Clean Green!

As we become a more eco-aware society, more and more consumers are using earth-friendly cleaning products in their homes.  Switch out those chemical filled cleaners for eco-friendly cleaning agents to make your home green and sparkling clean!

Eco-Friendly Ingredients:
  • Baking Soda
  • Lemon Juice
  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Vinegar
  • Borax Cleaner
Look for “green brand products” like the ones below:
  • Seventh Generation
  • Method- detox your home
  • BIO Green Clean

2.  Have a Bright Idea!

Make the switch to fluorescent light bulbs to see your energy consumption take a significant dive.  Fluorescent light bulbs last for more than 10,000 hours and use far less electricity to provide the same amount of light.

3.  Bottles Be Gone!

We get it… bottled water is convenient.  You don’t like the taste of tap water.  We’ve heard and we’re hear to tell you- you can give up bottled water!

  • Install a reverse osmosis at your home to provide you and your family with clean and refreshing water that is super convenient to use
  • Buy a wide-mouth stainless-steel or BPA-free bottle with a removable lid

4.  This Reusable Bag Went to the Market

Paper or plastic? Neither, I have my own bags!  Switch to a reusable bag when heading out to do your grocery shopping.  Traditional bags like the ones we get from the store, take up to 1000 years to break down.  As they break down, they separate into tiny pieces of toxic particles that further contaminate the soil.  Eco-friendly reusable bags come in various colors, sizes as well as; strong versatile, and last a long time!

5.  The Lights Are On but Nobody is Home

If you’re not home, turn the lights off!  We see no problem in keeping a front door or outdoor light on for safety reasons but turn the other lights throughout your home home when you are gone.  If you would like the lights to be on as you or your family comes home at night, purchase a timer that will turn your lights on or off based on your preferences.  Lower your electric bill while still having the added comfort of coming home to lit house.
