It seems like each year more and more homes are switching from carpets to hardwood floors. While beautiful and easy to maintain, hardwood floors can cause unique challenges on water damages. When a water damage occurs and hardwoods are affected, the water travels from the top of the floor through the joints and underneath to the subfloor where it becomes trapped from normal extraction methods. If this water is left for an extended period of time the flooring will begin to cup at the edges and can even buckle from the pressure.
Fortunately, AmeriClean’s water damage crews receive specialized training and have access to the latest and most effective tools for drying hardwood floors. Our floor drying system works in conjunction with air movers and dehumidifiers to remove the trapped moisture from underneath the floor.
In most situations we are able to dry the hardwood floor and subfloors without removing flooring and in most cases the floor does not require additional sanding or refinishing.
